We were blessed with another great year!
We had 13 head of livestock selected to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. On Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at the South Point Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas Nevada we were named the 2022 PRCA Stock Contractor of the Year for the 8th consecutive time. Owner, Jerry Nelson is honored to win this award. In October the PRCA announced the Pendleton Whisky’s Let’er Buck Stock of the Year awards, and we were excited to see that 16 Gun Fire was named the 2022 PRCA Bareback Horse of the Year. She’s a ranch raised mare that had another incredible year. They were 90+ points on her throughout the year at some of the biggest rodeos in the PRCA. Our bull 618 Gladiator’s Hammer was voted 3rd best Bucking Bull of the Year in 2022 as well.
Frontier animals took cowboys to the pay window ten times this past week, winning a total of $125,838.00 on our four-legged athletes. We made back-to-back trips to the South Point Hotel & Casino for the buckle presentation, to receive go-round buckles presented by Montana Silversmith. In Round 5 Tristen Hutchings was 90.5 points on 78 County Jail to win the Bull Riding and Logan Hay was 87.5 points on 832 Yellowstone to win Round 6 in the Saddle Bronc Riding. In Round 3 Josh Frost split ¾ in the Bull Riding on 618 Gladiator’s Hammer with an 86.5-point ride. In Round 4, Wyatt Casper was matched up with 102 Miss Ellie and Lefty Holman had 303 Lil Sugar they split 6th place in the Saddle Bronc Riding with 82-point rides. In the 5th Round Cole Franks drew 16 Gun Fire and split 5/6 with an 86.5-point ride in the Bareback Riding. In Round 8 215- Full Baggage carried Tilden Hooper to a 6th place win with an 83 point ride in the Bareback Riding. In Round 9 it was Cole Reiner and 28 Painted Smoke with an 85.5-point ride splitting 4/5/6 in the Bareback Riding and Logan Hay who had a great week won 4th on CW Wild Bill with his 86.5-point ride in the Saddle Bronc Riding. Round 10 the champ Tim O’Connell drew 16 Gun Fire, and he spurred his way to a ¾ place split with an 88.5-point ride.
We would like to thank our families, friends, and our outstanding “Frontier” crew. Thanks to the rodeo committees that hire us, to the contestants that enter our rodeos and the RODEO FANS! Thanks to our sponsors American Hat Company, Justin Boots and Wrangler for keeping our crew looking sharp in and out of the arena and to Frontier Rodeo Coffee for putting more “Buck in our Cup” during the ten days in Vegas! None of this would be possible without all of you. Thank you to Las Vegas Events and the PRCA for the greatest 10 days in rodeo!
Congratulations to the 2022 PRCA World Champions. We hope to see you at a Frontier Rodeo in 2023.
