66th Wrangler National Finals Rodeo Recap

66th Wrangler National Finals Rodeo Recap

We had 10 head of livestock selected to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo and 2 grand entry horses; one was used by a judge as the timed event flag horse. We’re just as proud of our performance horses as we are the bucking stock and was happy to see Pickupman of the Year Shawn “Too Tall” Calhoun ride one of them at the NFR. On Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at the South Point Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada we were named the 2024 PRCA Stock Contractor of the Year for the 10th consecutive time. The 10th one is just as exciting as the 1st, what an honor!

Frontier animals took cowboys to the pay window nine times during the WNFR, winning a total of $251,024 on our four-legged athletes. We had animals out in every round except rounds 2 & 6. We couldn’t be prouder of how our animals performed. When the cowboys nodded their head at least one animal, in each round cashed in on some go-round money. We made two trips to the South Point Hotel & Casino for the buckle presentation and the 10th round was awarded at Thomas & Mack. Zeke Thurston & Saddle Bronc 832 Yellowstone started the NFR out with a bang by winning 1st with an 86.5-point ride. In round 7 the old man 215- Full Baggage proved that he still has it, matched up with Bareback rider, Bradlee Miller and an 88.5-point ride for the win. In round 10 Hayes Weight was the only cowboy to ride with an 87.5-point ride on bull R13 Misunderstood, and he took home a pocket full of money for his efforts!

In round 1, Saddle Bronc Horse 832 Yellowstone was voted rank horse of the round and in round 10, Bareback Horse 16 Gun Fire was the rank horse of the night.

We would like to thank our families, friends and our outstanding Frontier Rodeo crew for another successful year! Thank you to the rodeo committees that hire us, to the contestants that enter our rodeos and the RODEO FANS! Thank you to our sponsors, American Hat Company, Justin Boots and Cinch Jeans for keeping our crew looking sharp in and out of the arena and to Frontier Rodeo Coffee Company for keeping us fueled, especially during the two weeks in Las Vegas. None of this would be possible without all of you! Thank you to Las Vegas Events and the PRCA for the greatest 10 days in rodeo!

Congratulations to the 2024 World Champions! We’ll see you at Frontier Rodeo in 2025.
